LONDON COLLEGE OF STYLE

Here in this post, I would like to talk about my experience and insight about the London College of Style. Something struck on the first day of the school. Dan Blake, who is director of the London College of Style, said us: “some of you are going to discover what you already have in you and some of you are going to add some more skills to the existing ones”. At that side, I do think that school contributed me on both sides, one is opening my mind in various ways that I have been unaware of and the other one is that it improved my existing skills in a totally novel way.

The biggest contribution that the school provided to me has been the photo shooting as I would like to pursue a career as an editorial fashion stylist. I have learned how exactly I can conduct a photo shooting for a magazine or something else. It also showed me how I can work as a team and how I can get the best result as I focus on many aspects of a photo shooting. The second most important thing for me has been the internship opportunities. Thanks to these opportunities, some of us could able to work with experienced stylists, TV channels, clothes brands, magazines, and other relevant companies. Even these short-term internship has equipped us with great experiences that we wouldn't get anywhere else. It was a real-time experience and showed us how exactly we will be working once we graduate from London College of Style.

One of the best opportunity was the attending to London Fashion Week Men’s. We were able to take part in various catwalks shows. We also had the chance to work at the backstage of the shows. I had the greatest opportunity to work for Belstaff and A Cold Wall as a stylist. I have closely witnessed the whole process of backstage and how it has been prepared to be shown to the audience. By this means, I have seen that how much I like the backstage and the adrenalin of getting everything done in such a limited time. After these experiences and work, I would definitely like to work for backstage in my future career. Additionally, we have the best lectures regarding the style and being stylist, such as body shape, fashion history, color analysis, blog training and development and management of social media accounts.

I can honestly say that it brought my deep creativity and imagination to the surface. I can see how much I made progress and how I now see differently the things that I used to fail to see and notice. I am really pleased to make such a decision to study at London College of Style and meet all the amazing lecturers, people working for the fashion industry and my fellow classmates. I can’t wait for the second term of the school which I am sure will contribute to my progress even better in every possible way. I will keep you posted in the second term of the school.
