PHOTO SHOOTING
This photo shooting was set to be a special and unforgettable for me due to the fact that it was my first shooting that I worked on as a fashion stylist and the best part of it was my first published work for magazine at the same time. After this exciting news, I would love to talk about the story behind my photo shooting. I am studying Fashion and Personal Styling Advanced Diploma at London College of Style. As part of curriculum of the school we were expected to conduct three photo shooting for the first term of the school.
So here I would like to talk about how the process came through and how I prepared for photo shooting. Most importantly, I also would like to talk about what I have gained after this shooting. First thing was picking up some samples from PR companies. Thus, school wanted us to pick up or choose some clothes, jewellery and accessories. By this, they aimed to teach and show us how we can get some samples from PR agencies and how we can connect them when we want to do our own photo shooting after graduation. I want to mention what I have learned and the experiences that I got during the photo shooting on the day of the shooting. When we got to studio, we met with the team such as art director, photographers, make-up artist, hair stylist and models. We had a short meeting about shooting. After that, we started the preparation for shooting such as choosing our clothes and styling them in the way that how we imagined that shooting was going to be like while models were getting their make up and their hair done.
Afterwards we started shooting. At that point, our art director helped us with really important points.
She taught us how we should work as a stylist and what we are supposed to do as stylist. A stylist should be careful during the shooting and make sure the styling looks properly as the way how it is exactly supposed to look on the photos. Stylist might have to fix some details like tightening loose fabric or put them in order again as models might ruin the look while they were posing.
The other important issue to learn was that how stylist should be careful about clothes. The stylist has to make sure that they are in a safe place and nothing can damage or ruin them during the shooting and models' dress changing. That is because after shooting the stylist are going to return all clothes to PR companies, designers or brands.
On that day we have had 2 types of photo shooting. First was one full look that can be seen above. For this shooting, I imagined a fresh and young girl in fun colors.
