MAN PHOTOSHOOTING We designed the third and last photo shooting as if we were working for  Seventh Man  magazine. It was my first man model photo shooting. The theme of our photo shooting was the topic of America.  Students were free to choose on the theme and concept about the shooting. I wanted to have a political stance and reference. I imagined a model which looks like cartoon character, an unusual personality with unusual colours of men’s wear.  I wanted to show in this photo shooting as if we are getting the news from this kid as we are actually getting it in real life. The kid I imagines was unhappy because the circumstance of his country, a kid who is afraid of his future. That’s why I preferred to use socks that read “future” on it. Similarly to this, I made my clothes choice according to cartoon characters and kids with a bold color shirt and short. Lastly, for crop photo shooting I added some accessories like a hat and also I put my ...

VEGAN PHOTO SHOOTING The second photo shooting as a part of London College of Style curriculum was for the vegan clients. We picked up the clothes according to the vegan clients and their expectations. We were very attentive to the fact that our clients were vegan and our choice of clothes, shoes and accessorizes shouldn't have included any animal product. We planned the photo shooting for the 2017 Spring/Summer collection. We agreed on using the trend bold colors and frills for the looks of the photo shooting.  We are divided into two groups. Each group made their preparations as if they are actually working for specific magazines. My group decided to work for  Love Magazine.  Therefore, we set the our theme as rebellious, city-dweller, young, joyful and free-spirit. We created a mood board according to this theme, from make-up to the clothes. I really found it difficult to find vegan clothes. There were barely no choices for vegans in most of the...

MY EXPERIENCE OF WORKING AT BACKSTAGE OF A COLD WALL AND BELSTAFF Thanks to London College of Style, I had the chance to work at the backstage of  A Cold Wall  and  Belstaff  during the London Fashion Week Mens’. I would love to talk about my experiences and what kind of skills you can gain if you are at the beginning of your career as fashion stylist as myself or if you inspire to be one.  At the backstage, I had the greatest opportunity to see the whole process of backstage from beginning to the end, to the catwalks and presentations. It made me realize many aspects to see what it means to be working as a fashion stylist at the backstage.  For example, I put all the clothes, shoes and accessories on the rails in an order that they have decided before for the day of the show and each of what belongs to the specific model. After having make-up and hair done, I dressed the models by relying on what looks has been set and sty...

LONDON COLLEGE OF STYLE Here in this post, I would like to talk about my experience and insight about the London College of Style. Something struck on the first day of the school. Dan Blake, who is director of the London College of Style, said us: “some of you are going to discover what you already have in you and some of you are going to add some more skills to the existing ones”. At that side, I do think that school contributed me on both sides, one is opening my mind in various ways that I have been unaware of and the other one is that it improved my existing skills in a totally novel way.  The biggest contribution that the school provided to me has been the photo shooting as I would like to pursue a career as an editorial fashion stylist. I have learned how exactly I can conduct a photo shooting for a magazine or something else. It also showed me how I can work as a team and how I can get the best result as I focus on many aspects of a phot...

DISORDER MAGAZINE  PHOTO SHOOTING This photo shooting was set to be a special and unforgettable for me due to the fact that it was my first shooting that I worked on as a fashion stylist and the best part of it was my first published work for magazine at the same time. After this exciting news, I would love to talk about the story behind my photo shooting. I am studying Fashion and Personal Styling Advanced Diploma at London College of Style. As part of curriculum of the school we were expected to conduct three photo shooting for the first term of the school. So here I would like to talk about how the process came through and how I prepared for photo shooting.  Most importantly,  I also would like to talk about what I have gained after this shooting. First thing was picking up some samples from PR companies. Thus, school wanted us to pi...

LFWM - Tourne De Transmission                                    SS18                                  --   THE LIES THAT BIND -- This show was very special for me. It was all because for the first time I have attended such an inspiring show in London. Beyond that, the philosophy behind the collection has inspired me as a graduate student of philosophy. It showed me how I can harmonize philosophy and fashion with which I am in love both. The designer touched on very important realities that we take for granted and accept without any questioning. Do we really make our own decisions freely? We are supposedly "modern people" and we think that we are living in a free world; there is no obstacle and restriction that can prevent u...
